Spherical facial shield proves that we are living in a 1950s sci-fi comic

A pandemic had to appear in order for fashion to finally take on the futuristic tone that many dreamed of in the middle of the last century. Protective clothing is the new trend and a collective of artists from Germany has just launched a "spherical face shield" that could very well print a vintage sci-fi comic.
The creation is by Plastique Fantastique and won the name ‘iSphere’. The inspiration for the project really comes from the comics of the 50s, with hints of style stolen from the utopian movements that won the world in the 60s.

The idea is to offer a fun touch to the exceptional situation that we are experiencing due to the Coronavirus, since the use of protective masks has become mandatory in several cities around the world.

The project was published in open source, so that anyone can produce their own plastic spheres. In the city of Berlin, where the initiative was launched, the creators estimate that the material costs will be approximately € 24 (around R$150-local currency). The assembly takes an average of 30 minutes.
Basically, the creation consists of joining two hollow hemispheres of transparent plastic with adhesive tape, making a cut at the base for entry of the head.
