Chris Hemsworth celebrates Rescue Record on Netflix
Star Chris Hemsworth posted on his Instagram a video in which Netflix celebrates the “Rescue” audience record. The material released states that the film is the most watched of the streaming platform in several countries in the world, such as Australia, Spain, India, Brazil and the United States, in addition to having become the biggest premiere of a Netflix film of all time. .
Neither Netflix nor the actor announced the celebrated numbers. On May 1, the platform "revealed" that "Rescue" would have been seen by 90 million subscribers in its first week, a record monthly consumption. As Netflix's audience is not audited, the information is just the company's word.
"Rescue" tells the story of Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a mercenary who accepts a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of a crime boss by another criminal faction.
Filmed in India and Indonesia, the feature was produced by the Russo brothers (directors of "Avengers: Endgame"), through their company AGBO, and the cast also features David Harbor (Sheriff Hopper of "Stranger Things"), Derek Luke (“13 Reasons Why”) and Golshifteh Farahani (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge”). It was also the first film directed by Sam Hargrave, a stuntman from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) who came to work as assistant director of the Russians in "Avengers: Infinity War".
Signed by Joe Russo, the script is based on the comic book “Ciudad”, written by him and Ande Parks about a decade ago. Russo has already signed a contract with Netflix to develop a new continuation - or prologue - of the action plot.
