2020-Japan submerged: classic sci-fi animated adaptation wins trailer

Netflix released two posters and the trailer titled” 2020-Japan submerged " (Japan Sinks: 2020), an animated series that adapts the eponymous bestseller written by Sakyo Komatsu in 1973.
The cataclysmic plot describes a future (2020!) in which the whole of Japan begins to sink into the sea, accompanying a family that tries to survive amid the chaos and destruction caused by earthquakes. The work is considered a classic of Japanese sci-fi and was previously adapted for cinema, in the film " The submersion of Japan” (1973), and also won a live-action series in 2006.
This is the first time that” 2020-Japan submerged " work is transformed into animation.
The anime has production studio Science SARU, responsible for "Devilman Crybaby“, and the director is Masaaki Yuasa, precisely from the acclaimed”Devilman Crybaby".
The streaming premiere is set for July 9.
