SAMSUNG

Company created a cupped smartphone with a flexible screen "from the inside out"

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted Samsung a patent for a new smartphone equipped with a flexible screen. Perhaps the device with the proposed design will soon appear in the assortment of the South Korean giant.
As you can see in the illustrations, we are talking about a device with an “inside-out” screen: when folded, this panel is on the outside. At the same time, the device itself takes on an almost square shape.
A special mount allows you to fold the smartphone not only in the middle, but also with a displacement. In the second case, the camera or the additional speaker at the rear of the case remains open. At the same time, the back of the screen can be used as a viewfinder to shoot self-portraits or to control the process of reproducing multimedia materials.
On the side of the case, visible physical control buttons. At the same time, the connectors are not shown in the illustrations.
The patent application was filed in January last year and was issued in the current month. When the time comes for a commercial smartphone based on the design described, nothing is reported.
