4G LTE on a budget: 2020 HP Pavilion x360 14 will have WAN options for the first time in the series

The convertible is now shipping through Best Buy for a starting price of just $500 USD. Options for 4G LTE, however, will have to wait until May. The new chassis is nearly identical to last year's model with a few noteworthy changes.
HP has been on a roll this month with new laptops left and right. After refreshing its entire Envy family and introducing a new ultra-thin ZBook workstation, the manufacturer is ready to announce a new Pavilion convertible for users on tighter budgets. The 2020 Pavilion x360 14 will replace last year's model with new CPU options and a revised chassis.

The most notable update, however, will be the optional 4G LTE. Such a feature is usually reserved for high-end business laptops like the EliteBook or ThinkPad and it almost never appears on consumer models. Unfortunately, HP hasn't provided any other details on the matter including the WAN module or the compatible network providers involved.

Outside of 4G connectivity, the new Ice Lake CPUs will replace last year's Comet Lake-U options while the chassis has been slightly changed. The Power button and cable lock along the left edge, for example, have been removed and the corners and edges of the chassis are now sharper than before. The system can now be recharged via USB Type-C as well for added versatility.

Best Buy is now offering the Core i3 and Core i5 SKUs for $500 and $750, respectively, in Natural Silver and Warm Gold color options. HP will have more SKUs and customizeable options through HP.com for a starting price of $550 beginning in May. These later options will have Core i7 Iris and 4G LTE which the Best Buy systems appear to lack.
