Instagram terá desafios nos Stories  Instagram launches new challenge feature with TikTok in sight

Instagram took on the challenge posed by the growth of TikTok. The photo and video app that belongs to Facebook announced on Thursday, 23, a new feature that promises to facilitate creating and carrying out challenges in Stories.
Still in the testing phase, Stories will have a challenge sticker, which will allow users to perform specific tasks. Anyone can participate in the actions. Just click on the sticker and record the activity. At this early stage, however, the platform will provide a limited number of activities.
Challenges are today one of the most popular themes of TikTok, a Chinese app that has more than 500 million users worldwide and has worried Facebook. In short videos, of up to 15 seconds, the 'tiktokers' challenge each other to do a choreography, answer questions or represent a very specific situation.
It is not the first time that Instagram has launched a feature with TikTok in its sights: in late 2019, the network announced in Brazil Cenas, a quick editing feature that would allow users to have effects similar to those available in the Chinese app. In addition, Facebook has already launched a copy of TikTok, Lasso, on the Mexican market, but it has not yet taken off.
In February, Sheryl Sandberg, director of operations and number 2 at Facebook, assumed that the company fears for the growth of the Chinese app. "They are huge, they are growing very quickly, they reached larger numbers faster than we have reached," said the executive. In the world, the app was the second most downloaded on mobile phones in 2019, behind WhatsApp only, according to data from the analysis company Sensor Tower.
