Watch GT 2: An intelligent, stylish and flawed smartwatch

The Huawei Watch GT 2 has now been released, with our review following in tow too. While the successor to the Watch GT is certainly appealing, it suffers from some glaring issues too.
Huawei offers the Watch GT 2 in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes, along with a host of watch straps for each model. While our 46 mm review unit is stylish, built well and has great battery life, it struggled to do things of which even a basic smartwatch should be capable.
Among other software bugs like multiple identical notifications, our review unit inexplicably stopped tracking us during our test hikes. Overall, the software is buggy, and the lack of app store feels like a missed opportunity.
With that said, we expect Huawei to improve the software experience with updates, which should address many of the concerns we have. If that bears out, then the Watch GT 2 would make a decent companion not only as a smartwatch but also as a fitness tracker too. With 13 activity modes from which to choose and a plethora of other functions, then it should keep most amateur athletes satisfied.
Please see our accompanying Huawei Watch GT 2 review for our full thoughts on the company's latest smartwatch.
