IFA 2019-New Yoga 2-in-1s offer up to 10th-gen Intel Core CPUs and smart thermal controls

Lenovo has unveiled new Yoga C- and S-series models. As expected, they conform to Project Athena and feature premium materials and features in many variants. Some also offer up to 10th-gen Intel Core processors and AI features intended to boost performance and cooling under certain circumstances.
Lenovo has introduced its 2019 Yoga line-up today (September 5, 2019) at the IFA show. These new convertibles are associated with Project Athena, as promised. Some models also offer variants with 10th-gen Intel Core CPUs. The OEM has also developed AI capabilities for its new Yogas, which handle things such as optimizing video resolution when using stock Windows apps and battery life autonomously.
However, the best aspect of this new system may be Q-Control. It is a feature in which Fn + Q activates an Intelligent Cooling Mode. This, in turn, induces battery-life conservation modes. Modern Standby is also a useful-sounding tool: it allows background tasks such as email updates to run while the Yoga in question is in sleep mode. In addition, Lenovo asserts that this feature allows a notebook to wake up from sleep as quickly as a smartphone.

These AI enhancements are found in the new 14-inch Yogas C940 or S740. They offer up to 10th-gen Intel Core processors, variants with optional 4K Dolby Vision-enabled VESA400 HDR displays, and with NVIDIA GeForce GPUs in the case of the S740. They are joined by the 15-inch C940 and S740 variants, which are powered by 9th-gen Intel Core CPUS and have options on the same 4K display.

These models seemed to offer all the latest amenities Lenovo could seem to think of to pack into premium 2-in-1s. They include TrueBlock Privacy shutters; Windows Hello; fingerprint sensors; pen support with an in-bulit charging silo for the same; a new Rotating Sound Bar built into their hinges; Dolby Atmos Speaker System for the same; the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard, even a raised divot around the webcam to make opening and articulating the machines easier.
Those in less of a mood for such an elaborate device could also consider the 13-inch Yoga C640. It will come with up to 10th-gen Intel Core i7 chipsets.

However, it lacks the Sound Bar, and also the Amazon Alexa supports its counterparts will exhibit in certain markets. However, it does have variants that can use an LTE connection instead, as well as others that are Wi-Fi 6 only. Its prices will start at € 899 ($ 992) on its release in October 2019, as will the 2 C740 models and the 14-inch S740.

The 15-inch version of this convertible will cost € 1399 ($ 1544), whereas the 14-inch C940 will be € 1499 ($ 1654). Finally, the 15-inch Lenovo Yoga C940 flagship will go for € 1899 ($ 2096). This new flagship will not be available in Europe until October 2019, although the others will be available a month earlier.
