Core i5-9400F trades blows with the AMD Ryzen 5 3500X in early listing

Chinese retailer JD.com has jumped the gun and listed the Ryzen 5 3500X on its website before AMD has even formally announced it. The listing confirms the tip that prolific leaker @TUM_APISAK posted last month, with AMD marketing material pitting its upcoming Zen 2 processor against the Intel Core i5-9400F. The rumours were true, AMD has been developing a budget Zen 2 Ryzen processor to challenge Intel's lower order. Brought to our attention by leaker @momomo_US, Chinese retailer JD.com has started selling the Ryzen 5 3500X on its website for 1,099 CNY, which equates to roughly US$155 at today's exchange rate. The Core i5-9400F carries a US$182 recommended customer price (RCP) but currently sells for US$139.99 on Amazon, by comparison.

The JD.com listing confirms the leak published by @TUM_APISAK last month, although AMD will sell the processor as the Ryzen 5 3500X and not the Ryzen 5 3500. We would be surprised if the latter also exists with the same specifications as @TUM_APISAK claimed because the Ryzen 5 3500X matches those claimed by @TUM_APISAK.
As the photos below demonstrate, the Ryzen 5 3500X is a hexacore processor and will be the first in the Ryzen series to not support SMT, meaning that it can only execute one thread per core simultaneously. Moreover, the processor will have a 65 W TDP, while it will clock between 3.6 GHz and 4.1 GHz, exactly as @TUM_APISAK claimed.

There is no word yet on when AMD will officially unveil the Ryzen 5 3500X or when it will start shipping globally. However, you can expect the processor, which AMD claims to match the Core i5-9400F in most popular battle royale games, to cost around US$150.
