Brand launches the Indel B Car Refrigerator with a 12L cabin, DC inverter compressor, -18 ° C optimum temperature
Some cars come with a built-in refrigerator and that have been so since the 1980s, especially in hot regions and cars with lots of space. In the UAE, many SUVs and 4 × 4 cars have a fridge built in them. For example, the Nissan Patrol had 2 fridges in 1989–1997 models, now it has one which can store 4x500ml water bottles easily. Toyota Landcruisers also had fridges and some models had an ice maker. It has become a regular add-on on modern cars. However, where there is none, there are after-market car fridges that can be installed which uses the car's DC power source. Xiaomi has launched one of such, dubbed Indel Car refrigerator.
The car fridge is manufactured by renowned manufacturer Indel B which has been in the business of high end manufacturing after-market refrigerators for cars, caravans, vans and trucks for over 40 years. The company also supplies some of the largest European and American manufacturers of commercial vehicles such as Volvo, Scania, Daf, Iveco, Renault, Kenworth and Peterbilt.
Indel B Car refrigerator comes with a 12L cabin and has a built-in DC inverter compressor. The entire setup uses German refrigeration technology. The operating power of the fridge is 45W meaning when used with the car's 12V battery, the power consumed is actually 3.75Amp which isn't too much. Also, the fridge motor does not need to run all the time so the consumption is only when the compressor kicks in.
In addition, the lowest temperature the fridge can reach is -18C. It also comes with a built-in smart temperature control system which is designed to meet the preservation temperature requirements of different foods. Thus, you can keep different kinds of food fresh inside the fridge while on a long trip.
The cabin opens to the top up to 90 degrees. The entire fridge comes with a rectangular shape. On the side of the lid, is the control panel, housing the power button, temperature increase and reduction button as well as an LCD display showing the working temperature. It comes with a Max mode and Eco mode. When the car is running, you can use the Max mode but the Eco mode is meant for when the car is switched off or the device is connected to an extra battery directly.
The Indel B Car refrigerator comes with a 1980 yuan ($ 280) price tag. No word yet on its availability.
