HUAMI

Company unveils the Amazfit X Concept Watch with a flexible curved display

Huami Technology today held its scheduled press conference where three products were unveiled. The Amazfit GTS, Amazfit Sports Watch 3 and the Amazfit X Concept Watch. The Amazfit GTS and Sports Watch 3 are like the regular smartwatches you see in the market but the Amazfit X Concept Watch is a “watch from the future” and will be available in the first half of 2020.
The Amazfit X looks similar to the Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone that was launched in April this year but this isn’t a smartphone that can be worn on the wrist but this is wholely a smartwatch. The Amazfit X utilises an all-metal integrated design with hidden electronic buttons that replace the raised traditional buttons. The watch features a proprietary 2.07-inch flexible curved screen. The display has a super-arc curvature of 92° and this was achieved by heating the metal body through an ultra-high temperature of 700°C with a 6-bend bending process.

The was is shaped like a new moon and has a larger display area of up to 244% compared to the display area of wearable devices with similar size. The screen also has 326ppi, 100% NTSC high color saturation and up to 430nits screen brightness.
The watch uses a 220mAh curved lithium battery which is said to have support for up to 7 days battery life. Since the motherboard can’t be curved, the Amazfit X uses a 3-segment motherboard in order to adapt to the curvature.
