Versa 2 official packaging allegedly leaks out
Fitbit has been linked to a second generation of its popular Versa smartwatch for some time now. Recently, rumors about it have started up again in light of new leaks. They claim to show the wearable's official packaging, as well as an image from its manual hinting at new smart assistant features.
Fitbit may now be closer than ever to releasing its Versa 2 wearable. This long-anticipated smartwatch has reportedly been photographed in extensive detail and posted to a retail website. This new leak purports to show the new watch, its packaging and prevalent images from the books that may ship with it.
These drawings, along with the back of the alleged new Fitbit box, appear to confirm earlier rumors that the Versa 2 will support a voice assistant on launch. This will come courtesy of Amazon; the material in question suggests that Versa 2 owners will be able to use Alexa to access information such as the weather, set timers and complete other such tasks.
The packaging, which is shown in images posted to the P2P sales site OLX Bulgaria, also lists more of the Versa 2's possible functions and features. They include 24/7 heart rate tracking; sleep tracking and scoring; exercise tracking with 16 or more exercise modes; GPS that supports the same; smartphone notification management; an always-on display, storage that can hold hundreds of songs and Fitbit Pay.
The Fitbit Versa 2's price cannot be confirmed outright at this point. Then again, there are characters on its apparant OLX page that appear to indicate that it costs 380 lev, which equates to about US$216. In a world with a new Snapdragon Wear 3100 device that launched at about $199, this sounds like a reasonable price for a freshly-released Fitbit.
