New 'Grand Turismo' is in production
The producer of the Polyphony Digital studio and responsible for the series 'Gran Turismo', Kazunori Yamauchi, told the site GTPlanet that the next game of the car simulation series is already in production.
Yamauchi was pleased with the production of the last game of the series, 'GT Sport', and praised the physics system created by the team. "On the other hand, we are obviously working on the next 'Gran Turismo' and the world of sport that we reached with 'GT Sport' is something I always imagined for the future of 'Gran Turismo'," explained Yamauchi. "I think the next title we are going to create will be a combination of past, present and future - the complete form of 'Gran Turismo'.
The Japanese producer did not tell how he intends to innovate with the next title in the iconic series of PlayStation but was interested in exploring the Virtual Reality. However, Yamauchi admitted that it is something that can be left out if it affects the processing power.
"It's something for which you never have enough processing power; there is always some hardware limitation and the limit will never be high enough for us! Obviously this will gradually improve over time and we will follow the situation closely, "pointed out the product.
Given that the PlayStation 4 is currently at the end of 'life' and there are strong chances that the PlayStation 5 will be announced next year, it is possible that this new 'Gran Turismo' will be released in the next generation. Perhaps with a more powerful console Polyphony Digital will be able to realize its vision for the series of simulation of automobiles to 100%. Miguel Dias
