Cientistas desenvolvem sensores que identificam comida podreScientists develop sensors that identify rotten food

A group of British scientists have developed sensors capable of identifying the smell of rotten food, sensors that can be integrated into devices such as smartphones and prevent anyone from eating unhealthy food without knowing it.
"Citizens want to be confident that it is safe to eat their food and avoid throwing food out unnecessarily because they are not able to judge that safety. These sensors are cheap enough that we expect supermarkets to use in the space of three years, "explained one of the team members, Dr. Firat Guder, from the bioengineering department at Imperial College in London.
The idea is to reduce not only the health problems resulting from poor food intake but also to reduce the amount of food that is thrown away unnecessarily, thus seeking a more sustained and informed food purchase. Miguel Dias
