RGPD dados pessoaisRGPD: A year later there are only 4 fines. Videovigilancy concentrates main complaints

The regulation of the European standard for Portugal is not yet finalized, with the last details to be discussed in Parliament where a decision was anticipated by the end of May, but the RGPD has already been applied since May 25, 2018 and the National Commission of Data Protection (CNPD) has already imposed fines.
Altogether there are 4 fines imposed, one to the hospital center of Barreiro, the most significant, and three others to private companies, two of which are stores that did not indicate the video surveillance of customers. The total amount is 424 thousand euros, and to TSF the CNPD says that there are more and more complaints related to the capture of video images by security cameras, especially of neighbors and workers concerned with the recorded images.
Most of the complaints are against private entities, and this is a trend that has already been felt in the years prior to the entry into force of the RGPD.
Complaints about electronic marketing communications (commonly referred to as spam) have also been increased, either by e-mail or by telephone, according to the same source who claims there is still a clear increase in complaints against actions of telemarketing (voice call) and SMS spam.
The CNPD has not advanced figures but notes "an increase in complaints related to the lack of guarantee of the rights of data subjects (such as right of access, right of elimination, right of opposition)." M. F.
