George Clooney will star and direct science fiction for Netflix
Actor George Clooney has signed a contract with Netflix for his next job. The platform announced that she will star and direct "Good Morning, Midnight".
The production will be the first science fiction directed by Clooney, more accustomed to alternating between dramas and comedies.
The post-apocalyptic plot is an adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton's book of the same name, which follows the story of Augustine (Clooney), a solitary scientist in the Arctic, who attempts to make contact with the crew of the Aether spacecraft while they search return to Earth.
The adaptation was written by Mark L. Smith, screenwriter for "The Return" (2015) and "Operation Overlord" (2018).
"Mark is a writer we admired a long time ago and his screenplay is haunting. We are thrilled to be working with our friends on Netflix as well, "said Clooney and his partner, producer Grant Heslov, in a statement on the project.
