Leaknews: Galaxy A90, the brand new model coming soon
Samsung may released a new phone, which is rumored to resemble the Galaxy A80, soon. According to a new Geekbench database entry linked to the new device (the SM-A9050), it may feature the Snapdragon 675 and have 6GB of RAM. As the A80 is powered by the 730, this is somewhat suspicious.
Samsung has premiered an all-new Galaxy A-series this year. It may have been intended to replace the Galaxy J-line in terms of its device tier, and apparently allows the OEM to slight reprise from its usual smartphone design language. From the Galaxy A10 (which features the notch some may have thought this company would adopt) to the Galaxy A80, many models from this new range have something unique aboout them.
This may also extend to the Galaxy A-line's next rumored iteration, the Galaxy A90. Some leaks have pointed to a display for this phone that may be able to sliding downwards to reveal front-facing sensors, as with the Mi Mix 3. Some renders suggest that this component will be designed as well, if not better than, the Xiaomi phone.
A phone with a model number that may match this description (SM-A9050) has recently shown up on Geekbench. This listing shows that the A90 putative will have 6GB RAM and run Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box. This sounds promising so far ... however, the same results show an 'SM6150' as the SM-A9050's processor. This code-name is closely linked to the Snapdragon 675. As the Galaxy A80 features the Snapdragon 730, it seems that the continuum of SoC power in this series may have become somewhat convoluted.
On the other hand, an earlier prototype phone believed to be the Galaxy A80 prior to its release (its model number was SM-A805F) also exhibited the SM6150 chipset in its own preliminary Geekbench test results. Therefore, it may be the final configuration for the putative Galaxy A90 may not yet be set in stone. by Deirdre O Donnell
