Sony PS5 video Xbox Two PSNBrand tries to rebuild with the new PlayStation 5
Sony chief executive Mark Cerny has officiated in an interview with Wired the first details of his new gaming console, the PlayStation 5. Cerny, who was responsible for the architecture of PlayStation 4, once again took the reins of the development of PlayStation 5 and promises a console truly worthy of the new generation.
The PlayStation 5 CPU will be based on AMD's Ryzen line and will have an eight 7nm Zen 2 cores. Regarding the GPU, the PlayStation 5 will be entitled to a custom variant of Radeon's Navi family, including a 'ray tracing' technology for better graphics and audio experience that, according to Cerny, 'no console could stand it ". To manage all this power, the PlayStation 5 will include an SSD drive for storage.
Players will be pleased to know that the PlayStation 5 will also be compatible with the games released for the PlayStation 4. This' opens doors' so that the remaining exclusive of the current Sony console 'Ghost of Tsushima', 'Death Stranding' and ' The Last of Us Part II '- are released for both platforms.
As for virtual reality, Cerny once again pointed to technology as an area where Sony intends to continue to bet via PlayStation VR.
It has been confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will not be released this year (perhaps 2020) but the chance remains that the announcement will still take place in 2019. Sony has already assured that it will not be attending E3 in June but it may organize its own event to reveal the new console. Miguel Dias/mundophone
