Netflix opens the game for Steven Spielberg
Netflix has not waited to respond to Steven Spielberg's alleged campaign to prevent streaming services from attending such ceremonies as the Oscars. In a 'tweet' published in his Twitter account dedicated to cinema, it is clear that Netflix does not intend to stop fighting for the right to compete in the competition.
"We love cinema. Here are some things we also love: Access to people who have no money for, or live in cities without cinemas; Let everyone, wherever they may be, enjoy premieres at the same time; Give filmmakers more ways to share art. These things are not mutually exclusive, "can be read in the publication below.
Note that Netflix was prominently featured in the last edition of the Oscars with 'Roma', which won the Best Director, Best Foreign Film and Best Cinematography awards, and 'Period. End of Sentence ', which took home the Best Documentary award for short films.
