Is Artificial Intelligence Replacing Your Intelligence?
Company wants to apply machine learning techniques in the fight against Alzheimer's

IBM is developing a procedure that hopes to predict the Alzheimer's risk, with up to 77% accuracy. This process would be much less intrusive and costly than those currently used, as well as having the ability to detect the disease at a stage where it would still be possible to delay its evolution.
According to a study published in 2017, the concentration of beta-amyloid - the protein that causes Alzheimer's disease - begins to change decades before the first symptoms of the disease can be detected.
Therefore, IBM scientists believe it is possible to apply machine learning techniques to identify, through a blood test, changes in the concentration of this protein in the cerebrospinal fluid.
While this new procedure is still taking its first steps, Engadget says it will be part of IBM's continued commitment to the use of artificial intelligence in the fight against neurodegenerative diseas. Mundophone
