Reddit users protest Chinese technological investment

Chinese technology giant Tencent has announced a $ 150 million ($ 132 million) investment in the Reddit platform, half of the company's estimated value of $ 300 million ($ 265 million) for its operations. You may think this is good news for Reddit but the users of the platform did not share the same opinion.
TIME is told that Reddit users were not wasting time protesting the investment, fearing that this investment by Tencent would mean more censorship of the platform. Note that, despite this large amount invested by Tencent, Reddit is not accessible from China.
The protest of Reddit users has resulted in several sharing of images of Winnie the Pooh - which is compared to the President of China, Xi Jinping, and banned by the censorship of the country since 2017 - and the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre in Beijing .
Reddit has not yet officially ruled on the investment or the resulting protests. Miguel Dias
