Next great Google Maps functionality is already being tested
Google is allowing some Maps users to test the next great feature of the navigation app, namely the ability to show via Augmented Reality (RA) the direction to go in a particular project.
The functionality takes an intuitive format. Maps makes use of Street View to hit your location, and if you're not sure if you need to change directions, simply point your smartphone at the right to see the big arrows pointing the correct way. The Verge tells that the functionality is not always active and only manifests itself in certain situations.
It looks like Google is still testing the right format for RA within Maps. At this stage we have already tested the possibility of applying a line on the floor, a hypothesis that was set aside because it was verified that users would follow too accurately and keep them too attached to the smartphone screen.
Since the tests are still ongoing, Google does not commit to a release date for this option. It is possible that Mountain View technology will demonstrate it again at their I / O event in May. Miguel Dias
