Reguladores europeus preocupados com fusão de apps do FacebookEuropean regulators worried about merging Facebook apps
Facebook has recently revealed that it is considering whether to allow Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram users to exchange messages with each other, which would lead to a merger of messaging services. The hypothesis may sound exciting to users but raises concerns for European regulators.
Among them is the Irish Data Protection Commission which on its website shared a statement on the subject: "Previous proposals for sharing data between Facebook companies have given rise to significant data protection concerns and Irish CPD will start by wanting assurances that these concerns will be taken into account by Facebook as it develops this proposal, "read on the site.
Although it has already raised the hypothesis, Facebook has already announced that the merger of these messaging services will not happen this year. However, it is likely that throughout 2019 the technology of Mark Zuckerberg will study this hypothesis more and more deeply. Miguel Dias
