Japan blames smartphones for loss of sight among the younger
A study conducted in Japan by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology found that 25.3% of students have below-standard vision, with 67% of secondary students being below. The government seems to have already found an explanation.
For those responsible for the study this decline in the quality of vision of students is due to "the greater amount of time spent looking at screens and mobile games." As far as mobile games are concerned, Engadget notes that it has become a growing trend among the younger generation, especially given that Japan is the third largest gaming market in the world.
Although smartphones can not be responsible for the loss of quality of vision, it is proven that the blue light emitted by the screens can cause fatigue. Miguel Dias
