New Zealand joins countries that ban Huawei from developing 5G networks
The New Zealand government has joined the United States, Australia and Japan by blocking the development and implementation of 5G networks by Huawei.
Andrew Hampton, director of the New Zealand government communications and security agency (GCSB), said they found national security risks on Huawei's networks, according to CNN.
Under that warning the laws prevent any kind of use of Chinese company technology in the country, so it is prohibited its use.
For his part, Huawei stated that he is currently analyzing the situation in New Zealand and that they will work closely with the country's government to address their concerns and continue to work together.
Huawei faces an increasingly complicated global picture
These bans put the growth plans of Huawei, one of the three companies in the world, together with Nokia and Ericsson, with the ability to implement 5G.
The United States has been the main driver of the Huawei ban since 2012 and is now pushing its allies to do the same. Nations like Germany are already analyzing the situation closely, although they still do not take a stand on it.
However, the pressure on Huawei is very strong, although it continues to work with more than 20 allies in other regions of the world to deploy its 5G networks. H. T.
