GDDR5X Powered GTX 1060 to be released soon

Well, now that we have moved on from the GTX line of cards thanks to the release of RTX, no one thought we’ll see another GTX card again. At least in the manner, Nvidia could be cooking one up. According to a new rumor, Nvidia is preparing a new GTX 1060 card for release by the end of the year.
Yes, there could be another Nvidia GTX 1060 in the near future. There is already a handful of a version of GTX 1060. There two version – 3GB and 6GB. But in China is a 5GB version of the card available.   Now, Nvidia is planning to bring us a GGDR5X based GTX 1060 graphics card.
According to sources, Pascal architecture may get more life with a GDDR5X based GTX 1060.  The is based on GP104 board which looks similar to the GTX 1080. This indicates that the new Pascal GP104 silicon could be a cut-down version.
It is believed that the GP104 version was exclusive to China, the 5GB card we discussed above. Such cards are limited to use in gaming cafes and tournaments.  While there is no official confirmation to this news, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Nvidia releasing such a model.
AMD is rolling out a new card, RX 590  for the mid-range market. Nvidia could be planning to release a new GTX 1060 to counter RX 590 both in terms of performance and price point. The RX 590 is rumored to be released by the end of the year as well. RX 590 will feature 4GB and 8GB variants.
It is a strong mid-range contender for the market. Meanwhile, Nvidia GTX 1060 is using a 6GB VRAM GDDR5X with 192-bit memory bus. It will be the very first  1060 variant to feature GDDR5X.
