Parental control introduced in iOS 12 continues to list shocking and pornographic content

With the introduction of the new iOS 12 operating system, Apple promised an effective parental control tool, Screen Time, allowing parents to control how much time their kids use apps or smartphone (or at least theory). The feature also allows blocking of content inappropriate for young people, but according to The Verge, filters are not always effective and many content is listed.According to the publication, the filters tend to be radical, preventing, for example, research on "safe sex", "sexual harassment support" and even "sex education", but there are topics such as "bombs", "Poisoning" or the possibility of joining a terrorist group. These are rigid filters, which simply ban sites that mention sex, even if they are educational, but fail to filter other terms related to violence, extremism or pornography, in this case, when using slang terms.Verge also notes that during its tests, it encountered other discrepancies in filter quality, highly based on keywords. The Daily Stormer site dedicated to the neo-Nazi was listed, but the Teen Vogue youth site was censored. If you are unsure of the effectiveness of the filters and limitations imposed by parental control, you can either activate an option that limits established navigation, or you can even create a list of prohibited sites that are immediately blocked.
