Call a taxi through Uber? It may be possible

Uber has a plan in place for southern Europe that provides for the opening of the platform to taxi services. The measure has just begun as a pilot project in Italy and the process is under negotiation in Spain.The plans were revealed by Uber Spain's general director, Juan Galliardo, in an interview with El País. "We want to adapt the app to offer a service identical to that of MyTaxi and compete directly with these platforms."He added that talks with industry associations and other companies in that country have been taking place for some time. "We are optimistic that in the coming months we will be able to start working with taxis, as is already happening in Greece, Japan, the United States or Israel."Juan Galliardo also mentioned that there are "important expansion plans" at the international level to convert Uber into a multimodal platform that integrates all means of transport, bicycles, scooters, carsharing and motosharing included.It is recalled that in Portugal the new law that regulates the electronic platforms of transport - and that so much controversy generated - goes into effect as of November 1st.
