New functionality added to Google Assistant now allows parents to set rest periods in their children's use of smartphones over the age of 13.The option is activated through the Family Link parental control tool and already existed for children up to the age of 13, thus being extended to a longer age range. In this case, it works as an agreement between the two parties, that is, both the parent and the young person will have to consent to the monitoring, which also allows approving or blocking the download of apps and the geographical location.




Limiting the use of the Family Link-supplied smartphone is now associated with the Google virtual assistant via the usual voice command. Just give the "order" with a "Hey Google, lock XXXXX device" and the young man in question will have five minutes to say goodbye to his smartphone for the time it has determined."Family additions" to Google Assistant also include the recognition of up to six different voices, including whether the voices in question are from children, to provide answers according to their ages should they ask a question.
