World-wide broadband rankings-Singapore leads
Portugal is ranked 29th in the Worldwide Broadband Speed League 2018, a study published by Cable and conducted by Measurement Lab, a project with the "signature" of different universities and Google Open Source Research among its partners. The ranking is led by Singapore with an average download speed of 60.39Mbps. In Portugal it is 21.28.The difference compared to the speed of 21.72Mbps registered last year by the same study is not much, but it is enough for the Portuguese market to fall 12 positions in the comparison of this year with the other countries. The report, which is based on more than 163 million speed tests in 200 countries, conducted in the last 12 months until last May, also reveals, about Portugal, that a 5GB HD movie takes an average of 32m05s to be downloaded. No one beats the leading Singapore, which leaves the remaining countries a considerable gap with its average download speed of 60.39Mbps. Sweden, second, stands at 46.00Mbps, and Denmark, third on the podium, for 43.99Mbps.The United States only comes in at 20º (25.86Mbps) and the UK at 35º (18.57Mbps).
