‘Dark Mode’ WhatsApp update
‘It’s never too late’, is what WhatsApp seems to be going with in their approach to include a dark mode view in their application.
The instant messaging giant even with all their frequent updates seem to be the last ones following in the steps of YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Reddit or even Microsoft Windows Explorer, to roll out the dark mode visual theme.
According to user @WABetaInfo on twitter, a dark mode is being hinted in upcoming WhatsApp updates.

The user also shows off a ‘concept theme’ in a tweet followed right after.
Whether it be in the comfort of your home or outside, any low-light condition asks for an immediate rectification, which the dark mode almost always solves. Dark mode has been a staple usage theme for many apps. Besides from adding variety or changing the look of a particular UI, dark mode also aims to reduce eye strain that users might get by looking into a brightly lit screen for extended periods.
Till now users have been using help from third party applications such as ‘Substratum’ to get the dark mode to help relieve some stress from their sore eyes.
While any dates and specifics of the dark mode update are still in the ‘shadows’ (pun intended), we can be sure that it’s something that we will see in the near future as more and more applications and websites opt towards a dark mode theme addition in their user-interface.
