Impossible Aerospace
Impossible Aerospace is a startup that lives up to the name it chose. The US company, a specialist in the drones sector, claims to have developed a battery that is capable of holding a drone in flight for two straight hours. This mark corresponds to five times what most commercial models are capable of achieving. The technology, which developed the US-1 to demonstrate the potential of its system, explained that the drone can stay in the air for a long time, thanks to its structure, which is also its main source of power. In this way, the device can understand more batteries, while maintaining its weight."We realize that it is possible to build structural batteries that integrate the safety technologies needed to deal with the unpredictable characteristics of lithium-ion batteries," said CEO Spencer Gore. The businessman, who worked at Tesla and SpaceX, said that its design matches the standard model that manufacturers should adopt to combat with the most common aircraft companies.
Note that the US-1 has a top speed of 67 kilometers per hour and a range that exceeds 70 kilometers per hour. Impossible Aerospace stresses that the battery can be fully charged within one hour. The company is already selling the first units of this US-1, which in addition to the autonomy stands out for the optical and thermal sensors and GPS stick. These tools make this drone the perfect gadget for fire stations and other surveillance teams that do not come as very practical to constantly changing batteries in this type of equipment.
