Netizens distrust shared news on social networks
A study carried out by the Pew Research Center indicates that even though most participants consume news through social networks, those same participants do not seem to fully trust what they are reading.
About 42% of respondents say the news they read on social networks is "very inaccurate" and 31% say they are concerned about the subject, Axios notes. Some participants are also concerned about the partiality of the news they consume, with 11% indicating that the news they read may be biased at the political level.
The study also reveals which social networks are most used to consume news and no, it is not Facebook. 73% of respondents pointed to Reddit as their main source of news, followed by Twitter with 71% and finally Facebook with 67%.
