The latest research from MIT? How to Spit Spaghetti Properly
If you're among the people who spaghetti before you put them in the pot, you've certainly noticed the difficulty of keeping some pieces from falling to the floor. Instead of splitting the spaghetti into two halves, it is likely to end up with some pieces on the floor. This is a difficulty that a group of researchers at MIT is well aware of, and this led them to create a method that would divide the spaghetti wire into two halves without any chance to soil the pieces with pieces that split due to the effect . Well, Engadget says that the method was created using a special machine that, by applying a rotation of 270 degrees to the spaghetti, lets you break it into just two pieces. However (surprise) MIT intends to use the results of this experiment in other future experiences. "It will be interesting to see if and how rotation can be used in a similar way to control the fracture dynamics of two- and three-dimensional materials. Anyway, this was a fun interdisciplinary project and carried out by two persistent and brilliant students - who do not want to see, leave or eat spaghetti for a while, "read in the statement of one of the study's authors, Jorn Dunkel.
