IBM patent reveals drones serving coffees to employees
"Oh please, a coffee" is an expression typically used in a restaurant to ask the waiter to intervene. But IBM could adopt the concept for future drone models, evaluating a patent registered by the technology giant. According to the Spanish newspaper El País, the technology was registered in early August in the United States. The document reveals that the drones have a camera and biometric sensors that identify certain gestures of the workers, such as raise the arm, to request a coffee. But the device goes even further by identifying employees who show signs of tiredness, sometimes by their facial expressions or even dilated pupils.

On paper, the drone will still be able to do calculations to predict the need for workers to feel caffeine, through the hour they get up or hours of meetings. A measure that may eventually anticipate the departure of employees for the (prolonged) breaks for coffee. The process is, according to the information, totally autonomous, with the drone transporting the coffee in hermetically sealed containers without spills. In addition to companies, technology could be introduced in canteens and coffee shops, for example, to speed up service at busy times.
