Apple retira mais de 25 mil aplicações da App Store chinesa
Company withdraws more than 25 thousand applications from the Chinese App Store
Apple has removed 25,000 applications from its App Store in China, according to China Central Television (CCTV), the largest television network in the People's Republic of China. Bloomberg goes on to say that at least four thousand are gambling and lottery apps. The practices promoted by these apps are considered illegal in that country and have caused "economic harm to users."In statements to The Wall Street Journal, the Cupertino giant has confirmed that it has withdrawn applications from the App Store in China, but did not mention the exact number."Gambling applications are illegal and are not allowed on the App Store in China.We have already excluded many apps and developers from trying to include illegal game content in our App Store and we are careful to find other situations and prevent them from being on the App Store ".Apple began withdrawing gambling-related applications from its online store earlier this month, explaining to affected developers that this action would reduce fraudulent activity on the App Store as well as comply with Chinese government requests to handle activities illegal online gambling."We do not allow more gambling apps developed by individual programmers and this includes both real-money betting applications and those that simulate a gaming experience," the company says.This is not the first time that Apple meets the demands of the Chinese government. In July of last year, for example, the company removed VPN applications from the App Store in China.
