NINTENDO

Nintendo está a preparar a sucessora para a 3DS?
Is Nintendo preparing the successor to 3DS?
Recently named president of Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa was in conversation with company executives during a meeting of shareholders about some of his ideas for the future. Among the goals is the development of titles for smartphones, a segment that intends to be one of the pillars of the company, with the goal of reaching sales of 100 billion yen.According to the Nintendo Everything website, the president of the Japanese giant is satisfied with Switch's sales, but wants everyone to have a console, and for this will continue to produce new video games. The company is also eager to expand into new markets such as India and South-East Asia.As the success of the Switch, which can work as both a home console and a laptop, many experts pointed to a shrinking focus on 3DS, but apparently that is not the intention. Shuntaro Furukawa considers that his laptop has advantages over the Switch, such as being more easily transportable everywhere, greater autonomy and cheaper software. On the other hand, it is a console more focused on the children's public, being an attractive gift from parents to their children.

As for the successor to 3DS, the new president says that the manufacturer is considering several possibilities. Although not an affirmative answer, it is in the company's DNA to release new models of its handheld consoles throughout the lifecycle, as has happened with the Game Boy, DS and 3DS, which has received new versions.
The latest laptop family, 3DS, has surpassed 72 million sales in April, and already has new titles planned until 2019 (see them in the gallery). In the last fiscal year, and on Switch's shade, the laptop sold 6.4 million units and 35.64 million games. These are numbers that Nintendo does not rule out in its growth ambitions.
