PodRide

Swiss Electric Bicycle Car

The invention of the Swiss engineer Mikael Kjellman can completely change this story. He has created a mix of car with electric bike that brings together the best of both vehicles. Like conventional bikes, it is pedaled (with a little help from the electric motor). The difference is that the car-bike also has a kind of carcass, which protects the cyclist against wind, rain and even snow. In addition, four wheels are used for locomotion.
The invention gained the name of PodRide and arose from the necessity of Mikael to pedal during the rigorous Swiss winter. The engineer used parts from different bikes and vehicles to test what worked best and arrived at the prototype, which he had already used for a year to get to work.
Although it looks large, the width of the vehicle allows it to circulate normally on bike paths. For more convenience, the PodRide also has a seat with back support and the front windows have windshield with wiper for rainy days.A small trunk allows transporting purchases or necessary objects and the vehicle also has cushioning with air suspension and special wheels for the winter. The electric motor allows to reach a speed of 25km/h.For now, it's just a prototype, but the creator of the contraption expects it to be marketed in several countries by the end of this year, creating an alternative to traditional bikes. Prices, however, have not yet been disclosed.
