GARMIN

inReach promises greater security of satellite communication to extreme adventurers

Want to explore the highest mountain in the world? Or explore the icy deserts of the North Pole? Communication can be a major enemy of adventurers, who in emergency cases need powerful communication equipment. Garmin introduces a new solution for the explorers, the inReach Mini, a small and compact satellite communication device. It is only 120g in weight and measures 10x5cm, which allows you to always carry it in your pocket. The device stands out for the ability to send bi-directional messages and an SOS 24/7 emergency function based on the Iridium satellite network, accessible through an inReach subscription. In addition to messages, the device allows you to track the user, working either independently or paired with a compatible device.
The device is also shock-proof, having been rated IPX7 (2) for resistance to extreme conditions. Its built-in rechargeable lithium battery offers 50 hours of standard 10-minute tracking and 20-minute extended-mode with 30-minute intervals.
The InReach Mini is now available for sale, with a price of 349.99 euros. For advanced use, you can download the Earthmate application and combine, via Bluetooth, the InReach Mini and a smartphone, accessing maps and aerial images for travel and route planning, as well as a contact list. The device can also be paired with Garmin's Fénix smart watches to receive and send messages directly from the wrist.
