New Aquarius X2 is the bet of the HRC to "go to the conquest" of the middle range / high in the smartphones
BQ today introduced its flagship Aquaris X2 and Aquaris X2 Pro flagship models in Lisbon, with the promise of offering smartphones with top components at a more affordable price. The devices feature the Android One certificate, which means a guarantee of features with high expectations by its users for efficiency, power and security within Google's regulation. Users will be guaranteed mandatory updates for two years, and three for security issues under the Google Play Protect standard. The optimization of the program also guarantees, as a rule, a more fluid use and a more efficient consumption. The models are based on the latest version of Android Oreo 8.1.Rodrigo del Prado, deputy director general of HRC, said that "every year the brand wants to upgrade and improve its equipment, and that in addition to the best materials that make up the body of the smartphone, look for the best components."
Like previous models, launched last year, the photographic quality is one of the main concerns of the Spanish manufacturer. To do this, you place your chips in a double camera, using 12MP and 5MP Samsung sensors, with a focal aperture of ƒ / 1.8, allowing you to capture superior images with less light intensity. Also regarding cameras, smartphones offer multi-image processing technology and instant ZSL shooting, which according to the manufacturer allows images of interior planes or night landscapes with greater clarity.
During the presentation, HRC stressed that the two new models are in the batch of the first smartphones with Google Lens introduced in the application of the camera. "We are the first in the world to launch phones with Google Lens in the camera application, even first that the giant manufacturers," said Rodrigo del Prado. This detection system based on artificial intelligence can distinguish the different objects focused.
In order to dispense portraiture image editing tools, the rear camera has Face Beauty features, and a special emphasis on portrait mode and (increasingly fashionable) bokeh effects. The effect creates a special highlight on people photographed in the foreground, blurring out the images detected on your background. The 8 MP front camera is assisted by a technology called SoftNeuro, which according to the manufacturer is based on the Deep Learning AI system, capable of detecting and isolating the models in portrait mode, and creating a depth effect. "We will gradually introduce new features with support in artificial intelligence," said the director of the HRC.
To add a personal touch to the camera app, HRC introduces new features such as built-in filters, Play Photos mode and a digital zoom up to X10. In addition it maintains the characteristics of last year by allowing to record videos at 4K resolutions, supported by the Vidhance stabilization system.
For those who use their smarphone for multimedia features, both models feature a 5.65-inch screen with an FHD + resolution and more than 16.5 million colors and a brightness up to 650 nits. If you opt for the X2 Pro version, the screen is reinforced with the 3D Glass Gorlla Glass.

Qualcomm's technology is very present in the new models, both in processing and sound solutions. The Qualcomm Aqstic system proposes a more ambitious sound environment for the user, according to HRC, with lower values of distortion. The processing unit is the responsibility of the Snapdragon 660 Octacore 2.2 GHz in the X2 Pro model, and the 636 Octacore 1.8 GHz in the normal X2. The company also said that it achieved a higher yield of more than 65% compared to the previous model and a reduction of energy consumption at 30% thanks to Kryo technology from Qualcomm. The new smartphones feature a 3100 mAh battery and Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ technology that allows you to fully recharge your phone in one hour. The handsets also offer biometric fingerprint reader, support for NFC connectivity and possibility to use two SIM cards.BQ revealed that the base model, Aquaris X2 will hit stores next June in two colors, Sand Gold and Carbon Black, with two configurations: one with 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM for 309.90 euros, and a more powerful one, with 64 GB of free space and 4 GB of RAM for 339.90 euros.
The Aquaris X2 Pro arrives later in July with three colors, Midnight Black, Glaze White and Deep Silver. It will also be sold in two versions, one with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM for 389.90, and the crown jewel equipped with 128 GB of free space and 6 GB of RAM for 509.90 euros.
