'GTA V' is the most profitable entertainment product ever

The latest title in the 'Grand Theft Auto' series, 'GTA V', has become the most profitable entertainment product ever, surpassing any other game, movie, book or music album ever released.
Who says it is MarketWatch, which points out that the game originally released in September 2013 has already reached revenues of six billion dollars (4.8 billion euros). You may think that these revenues are due to the more than 90 million units sold for various platforms, but in fact largely due to micro-transactions, which allow players to purchase extra items for the popular online mode.
Initially it was anticipated that 'GTA V' would have extra content for the main mode but, once perceived the potential of online, the resources were used to develop new game modes and items for the players.
