Realidade virtual é a resposta da Apple aos enjoos provocados por carros autónomos
Virtual reality is Apple's response to the sickness caused by autonomous cars
The patent office in the United States of America this week published a paper on one of Apple's latest submissions. The product in question is a virtual reality system that was designed to be used in vehicles, in order to avoid nausea in the passengers. The Cupertino company, however, anticipates that this solution can still be used to transport the user to a meeting or entertainment content. The document explains that the system may include a virtual reality headset or a projector, which would be used to project images to the interior walls of the vehicle. To mitigate the possibility of nausea, the system could include a set of sensors to monitor the condition of the user, determining in real time if the user is nauseated or dizzy. In response, content reproduced in the RV system will be continuously adjusted to enhance the passenger experience and mitigate this biological response. Apple explains that the display of clear and visual warnings can be used to prepare the user for a more sudden turn or STOP.

As far as entertainment is concerned, technology suggests that the system can be used to transport the passenger to a room where the author of a book reads his work, or for a working meeting, in an appropriate virtual environment, that all stakeholders are present. There will also be room for interactive adventures such as the pursuit of zombies or paragliding. In these cases, the car's air conditioning and sound system can be used to make the whole experience more immersive.
Note that this is just a conceptual product and runs the risk of never being materialized in a commercial version, just like all patents registered by technology. This, however, is neither the first nor the only RV project the company shows developing. The acquisition of specialist companies in this technology sector is another evidence that shows us that Apple is interested in launching virtual reality products.
