Porsche na oficina para criar drone voador de passageiros
Porsche in workshop to create passenger drone
After a phase in which it was reluctant to integrate electric motors in its vehicles, Porsche seems to have embraced the technological revolution in its entirety. According to the German portal Automobilwoche, the company is developing a passenger drone and the first sketches are close to being presented. The publication writes that the drone will be a standalone device, although there are flight modes that will give the passenger some control over the machine.Although there are no official confirmations yet by the brand's representatives, Detlev von Platen, who heads the Porsche sales department, recently underlined the embarrassments he felt on the road, which caused him to take about 30 minutes between the company and the airport, while a helicopter was able to make the same journey in "three and a half minutes".At first glance, this seems to be a crazy and rather disjointed bet on what Porsche's core is, but when we look at the projects that the German manufacturers have in the garage, we realize that competing brands such as Daimler and Volvo are also betting on this same segment. Even Volkswagen, which owns Porsche, has already participated in the development of a similar vehicle with Airbus.

If this type of transportation is going to be popular in the future, nobody knows, but the truth is that there are already several companies working on their own versions of the so-called passenger drone. In Dubai, for example, a number of tests have been done on Volocopter and Airbus solutions, for example. With this scenario, Porsche should not want to miss the opportunity to be present in this segment.
