Robot CIMON to be the new crewmember of the International Space Station
Developed by Airbus on behalf of the German Aerospace Center, the intelligent, mobile and interactive system will support astronauts and conduct new experiments.The CIMON (Crew Interactive Mobile CompanioN) medical device is the size of a ball, weighs approximately five kilos and has built-in IBM Watson technology. This secure and robust system allows you to understand human language through automated reasoning and machine learning, allowing you to communicate with your colleagues.

"CIMON is a personal assistant capable of voice and facial recognition. We want to study the psychological effects of long space missions on team members and try out appropriate solutions, especially those that reduce stress," explained the project leader.The new technology will be tested on the ISS as part of the European Space Agency's Horizons mission from June to October 2018.On the next European Space Mission, the astronauts of the International Space Station will have the company of artificial intelligence CIMON, a ball-shaped robot with a smiley face.
