Nokia and Vodafone want to bring 4G network to the moon
Nokia and Vodafone have joined the German aeronautical company PTScientists to bring 4G LTE network to the Moon with the aim of transmitting high definition video of the surface of our natural satellite.
The video footage will be collected by rovers created by PTScientists in collaboration with Audi, a separate mission that not only aims to further explore the moon's surface but also return to the landing site of the Apollo 17 mission in 2019, says Engadget .
"This important mission is supporting, among other things, the development of space technologies for future data networking, storage and processing and will help to advance the communications infrastructure for academic, industrial and educational institutions in conducting lunar research," can read Nokia's chief executive, Marcus Weldon.
