CIA, FBI and NSA against the use of smartphones from Chinese manufacturers

The CIA, the FBI and the NSA and three other US intelligence agencies told a Senate committee that they would not advise US citizens to use "goods or services" from Chinese companies.
The six officials insisted on their distrust of Huawei and ZTE in relation to public services and government agencies, but throughout their speeches they also mentioned not recommending the use of Chinese manufacturers' products and services to "private citizens" .
"We are deeply concerned about the risks of allowing a company or entity under the control of foreign governments, which do not share our values, to gain positions of power in our telecommunications networks," FBI Director Chris Wray argued before the Senate Intelligence.

Such a scenario would lead to the possibility of influencing or controlling the telecommunications infrastructure, he added, quoted by CNBC. "It offers the ability to maliciously modify or steal information. And the ability to spy without being detected. "
This is the latest "episode" of the "war" that the United States has decided to take against Chinese competition in the name of "national security" and comes following a draft law in preparation. It joins the denial by AT & T to Huawei of selling its latest flagship through carrier in that market, and that is the main way of acquiring mobile devices for the Americans.
