PGS

PGS wants to join the best of two worlds in a smartphone / console with Windows 10Manufacturer PGS Lab is finalizing the launch of its smartphone hybrid, portable gaming console and portable PC. The PGS (Portable Gaming System) is compatible with most PC and Android games, supports emulators but also other applications.Initially, the company's plan was to offer a device that would support the Windows 10 and Android operating systems on two separate chips, a promise postponed to the next generation due to complications in its architecture, according to one SAPO TEK official. The device will be sold with Windows 10 preinstalled. The device uses the Windows x86 architecture, which allows you to access thousands of PC games released in the market. From classic to modern games, proposals from independent producers, or even the most anticipated titles on the market (AAA) will be supported by the Portable Gaming System. According to the company, games can be installed similarly to a PC, but it will also be possible to play via streaming, in this case, still supporting the catalog of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

On the official PGS website you can find a wide range of compatible games such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mass Effect 3, Diablo III or Battlefield 4. All games will be from external companies, with no plans to launch of exclusive titles on the platform.
Due to the layout of its buttons and the presence of two analog knobs, it will be possible to play with the same configuration of the usual console commands.
the manufacturer has already defined the final design of the smartphone and chose its internal components. Three models are foreseen: the PGS Hardcore Titanium, the PGS Hardcore and the PGS Lite, with differences in configuration regarding DDR3 RAM, disk capacity and processor speed. The Lite version will be equipped with a more modest display and graphics card than the others, being the only one without Full HD resolution.

The two Hardcore versions of the PGS will have more autonomy, thanks to a battery of 6000mAh, while the Lite will be equipped with a version of 4080mAh. To solve the overheating of the appliance, two refrigerators and a radiator were introduced to dissipate the heat.
Although it is a smartphone with the potential to run video games, this device can also be used as a portable PC in a Windows 10 environment. You can take advantage of the dual screen in your portable use, but also connect the device to an external monitor, synchronize keyboards and mice wireless. Also count cards with support for MicroSDXC cards up to 512 GB.
The PGS will be launched worldwide next summer in the main electronic digital stores, and it is possible to pre-book the official website. Prices range from $ 259 for the Lite version to $ 599 for Hardcore Titanium.
This is not the first attempt by a manufacturer to launch a smartphone with strong support for video games. Nokia has tried to exploit this hybrid market with NGage through proprietary cartridges and Sony lets you play your Sony Ericsson Xperia titles on your PlayStation devices remotely at home. In the gaming market, Nintendo continues to be the leading manufacturer with its 3DS and Switch. But the truth is that there have not been any that tried to exploit the vast catalog of PC games.
