Apple notes patent on new digital pen capable of drawing ... in the air

All great technological products start with a patent, but it is also true that all those who never came to be materialized, too. This new gadget may well follow any of the paths, but for the sake of innovation, let's hope this is one of the first cases.
According to a document recently published by the US Patent Regulatory Authority, Apple is developing a new version of Pencil, the digital pen launched in 2015 that was designed to give more freedom to artists who have in the iPad Pro one of their tools of work. This new version stands out for its ability to work on any surface and even in the air.
The patent was published last January and is titled "Creating Content with a Resource for an Input Device Used on Non-Electronic Surfaces.

Although no further details have been uncovered about this equipment, the current state of the technology (and the image accompanying the document) tells us that the Pencil can work in pairs with an external sensor that will be in charge of monitoring the movements of this pen.
In practice, the pen will allow users to use any surface to draw or write on their computers and tablets. At best, you will not even need any surface, which could make this device a potential addition to a virtual reality system.
