ALCATEL

Alcatel dives deep into 18: 9 format and extends experience to all smartphone lines...Alcatel has come to Barcelona to show the radical renewal of its strategy for smartphones. In the first of the pre-conferences this weekend, which anticipates the new features that the brands will show at the Mobile World Congress 2018, Alcatel presents three new lines of smartphones, with several models, and a price strategy that defines as maximum 250 euro, but without jeopardizing innovation.Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3 and Alcatel 1 are the new lines that will progressively replace the offer that is on the market. The renewal of the line is based on three pillars: the adoption of the 18: 9 format on the screens of all lines, which is a debut of a manufacturer with such a strong bet on the Fullview screens, unified Design and the introduction of dual camera, front or rear, depending on the models.

The new display format allows for a better entertainment experience and content space, but helps reduce the width of the phone, making the equipment look smaller. 18: 9 has already become a common bet among high-end models from leading manufacturers, but not in the mid- to low-range ranges where Alcatel is investing, which is possible by the use of custom-built screens that benefit technology and TCL experience.
The new design philosophy, which Alcatel designates as SIMGANIC, is also one of the notorious changes. The approach to design has changed and the goal is to have a more natural and intuitive interaction for users, but also to offer a premium experience on cheaper equipment.
Added features include Face Key technology and camera improvements, with greater control of capture options and results editing.
Alcatel has further strengthened its commitment to security and has ensured that it will strengthen the regular availability of Android updates on a quarterly basis for its most popular models and new releases in 2018.

Three lines of smartphones for different options
Alcatel 5 is the most engaging model of the news presented by the company. One of the highlights is Facial Key technology, which uses facial recognition to unlock the phone in a very fast process. Even so Alcatel has not waived the fingerprint reader that also serves as a snapshot action button and can be configured for quick access to the most used apps.Count on a variety of photo editing and editing applications with Social Mode, Social Square and Instant Collage, as well as Photo Booth that recalls the concept of old photo machines installed in transit locations. The Alcatel 3 line has some features in common, such as the FullView 18: 9 screen, the Face Key feature and the fingerprint reader, but with three different models, all priced below 200 euros. The Alcatel 3 has a 5.5-inch screen but the Alcatel 3X version features a 5.7-inch HD + IPS screen plus internal memory and more RAM. This also features a dual rear camera with wide-angle lens. Version 3 costs 169.99 euros and arrives in Portugal in two colors in April, and 3X will go on sale in May, also in colors, and will cost 189.99 euros. There is also an Alcatel 3V model, 6 inch screen and dual rear camera. Also comes to Portugal in two colors and the PVP is 189.99 euros.

In Series 1 Alcatel also wants to break down prejudices and bring in the entry range details usually reserved for other, more expensive product lines. It should be noted that the price is below 130 euros, but this line will have two models, which will be the first in this range with the format 18: 9. The Alcatel 1X has a 5.4-inch screen and the rear camera is also a surprise, with a 13 MP sensor. But the main novelty is the integration of Android Go, with Alcatel ensuring that this will be the first model with the light version of Google's operating system on Europs. The new model arrives in Portugal in May, in two colors, Dark Gray and Gold, and the price is 129.99 euros.
Another alternative in the Series 1 is the Alcatel 1C, also with the same screen but with a more modest 8 MP camera. This one gains in the details, with the metallic and colors Metal Black and Metal Gold. The price is 109.99 euros.

Tablets and hotspots also go to the game
Alcatel brings more than smartphones to the trade show in Barcelona. TCL Communications, the parent company of the smartphone brand, demonstrates a 5G to 3.5GHz open source solution this week. The technology is linked to the OpenAirInterface (OAI) open source project, and has the partnership of Orange, EURECOM and Creonic that have implemented real-time equipment, demonstrating a configuration that is applicable in the European and Asian markets. In the line of mobility there are also two new tablets of the line Alcatel 1T, one of 10 inches and another of 7 inches, which continue the models that the brand already maintained and bet on a low price and simple design, but already with the Android operating system 8.1 Oreo. The two models will go on sale in the second quarter of 2018 with prices of 99.99 and 69.99 euros.Count on new hotspots from the brand, the LINKZONE CAT12 and LINKZONE CAT7 that combine LTE speeds with a battery boost. Alcatel confirms that it will be available this year but gives no details of date or geographical areas of marketing.
