NISSAN

Nissan bets on bedroom slippers that "park" alone

It's called ProPilot Park RYOKAN and it's a project by Nissan to bring together the autonomous driving technology used in their cars to "traditional hospitality." And that means getting slippers, cushions, tables, and television commands.
It all started with the car parking system present on some models of the Japanese manufacturer, which allows them to park without human intervention, and which is at this time evolving into the rest of the driving. Along the way, Nissan decided to "play" with some more "homemade" gadgets, aiming to show the potential of autonomous driving technologies in other areas.

First were the office chairs and now the project includes other items such as bedroom slippers, equipped with two small wheels, a motor and sensors, that allow them to circulate to get themselves alone in the space that is intended.
According to the international press, slippers, floor cushions and technology tables will equip the rooms of a hotel unit located in Hakone, about 75 kilometers from Tokyo, in an experience that may be tested by some guests starting next month March.
You can find more information about this and the other ProPILOT Tech for Life projects on this site.
